Aamir Khan meets Emine Erdogan: What does the actor meeting Turkish First Lady mean for Laal Singh Chaddha?

The news flash that has everyone’s attention is Aamir Khan meets Emine Erdogan, the Turkish First Lady. However, what others are reading into it, is more on the lines of how he is an anti-national, or even not so patriotic. Wonder why?

With the emergence of Erdogan, the international relations between India and Turkey haven’t been the best. Given the right-wing policies that the country promotes, this hasn’t been a welcome move for Khan’s fans in India.

It was only after a matter of time that photos as Aamir Khan meets Emine Erdogan took over social media. With that, there also began an uproar and in fact, netizens demand a boycott on his film Laal Singh Chaddha, already.

Check out some tweets on what followed as Aamir Khan meets Emine Erdogan:

What has further fueled this already existing fire is he did not meet meeting Benjamin Netanyahu, who is in fact, an ally to India. While this is likely to affect the movie, currently, there is more than just the film being questioned. With this gesture of Khan, there have been increasing concerns about his support. In addition, this movie from the actor has been received as a strong statement coming from him.

In fact, as  Aamir Khan meets Emine Erdogan, questions have also been raised upon another project he has bankrolled – Mahabharat. The project has also brought attention towards it, more for good than bad.

The increasing connection between politics and entertainment has now become rather scary, for there is now only a fine line separating the two. In fact, we all remember the fate Chhapaak meted as a result of Deepika Padukone’s visit to JNU. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death too has pulled out many political strings.

What reading into Aamir Khan meets Emine Erdogan means is that the film has received publicity. However, it is only with time that we will see how it affects Laal Singh Chaddha in the longer run later!
