Alia Bhatt joins RRR and Twitterverse has hopped onto the boycott bandwagon already

Not even a day has passed and it looks like Twitter is not very happy about Alia Bhatt joining the shoot of the upcoming film RRR.

Alia Bhatt joins RRR team today and the official Twitter handle saw an adorable photo of hers from the sets. The actress has quite the line up of films ahead, including Gangubai Kathiadwadi. While she has been working on her projects for a while now, Twitter seems to be buzzing with a lot more than just the film.

Sharing a photo, the tweet that announced the actress joining shoot, welcomed her to the team. It stated, ”A very warm welcome to our dearest #Sita, the supremely talented and beautiful @Aliaa08 on to the sets of #RRRMovie! Glowing starRed heart#AliaBhatt.” While the replies to this tweet, in particular, seem just fine on the surface, the fear has happened. The boycott culture just doesn’t end and now they want to boycott Alia all over again!

First, check out the tweet as Alia Bhatt joins RRR shoot:

Now, that sure did not seem to be happy news for many, given the nepotism debate has still not ended. Boycott Alia has been around for a time now and reached its peak when the Sadak 2 trailer released. What followed were a lot of things, but as Alia Bhatt joins RRR shoot, it is back and how. Though it is no surprise that the trend is picking up on social media, it does seem tiring to constantly read the same thing, isn’t it?

Alia has some great films to her credit and has managed to do a decent job, but not many see it. When the debate around nepotism started off post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, she was the center of attention too. But now, with her resuming work and getting onto the film sets, it doesn’t seem right to do so, almost never is.

However, given the cancel culture that is taking over, this also seems to have become a culture of its kind. Boycotts and various trends taking over at various intervals for the work they do, etc, isn’t a healthy way of showing support or fighting for justice. None the less, it is a free world after all!
