Let’s clear our heads a little and try to understand just about what is going on. It all started with the farmers protesting against rather inhuman laws by the Government. In an attempt to stop those laws from being executed, they began protests. Last night, Rihanna tweeted about the ongoing farmers’ protests. And so, here we have another blasphemy taking place as celebrities trend #IndiaAgainstPropaganda. Sounds a lot like Bollywood versus Rihanna?
Just where are we headed to? Following the suit of Rihanna, many other international figures have also spoken up. The names include the likes of Greta Thunberg, Mia Khalifa, and a handful of others. With the government under scrutiny, it seems to have become a case of Bollywood versus Rihanna. So much in the name of democracy?
After a statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, many celebrities have tweeted about it. Bollywood is trending #IndiaAgainstPropaganda along with another hashtag of ‘India Together’. Some of the names who are a part of celebrities trend #IndiaAgainstPropaganda include Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and more.
Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences. 🙏🏻#IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda https://t.co/LgAn6tIwWp

We live in turbulent times and the need of the hour is prudence and patience at every turn. Let us together, make every effort we can to find solutions that work for everyone—our farmers are the backbone of India. Let us not let anyone divide us. #IndiaTogether

Don’t fall for any false propaganda against India or Indian policies. Its important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting 🙏🏼#IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda

We must always take a comprehensive view of things, as there is nothing more dangerous than half truth. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda @hiteshjain33 https://t.co/7rNZ683ZAU

If Chandler Bing could say just one thing right now, he would question: Could this BE any messed up?
Not to forget, Kangana Ranaut seems to be on a roll on Twitter. She has also picked an argument with Diljit Dosanjh yet again. Among other things, she also replied to Rihanna’s tweet, making things look bleaker. At a time when the ongoing farmers’ protests need support, we have Indians promoting different propaganda.
While celebrities trend #IndiaAgainstPropaganda, many seem to have slammed them for the same. Netizens and they aren’t pleased after all as the tweets haven’t gone down very well. In addition, reports also have it that the central Government has asked Twitter to remove certain Tweets. In addition, if not complied with, the government might penalize Twitter.
This has come down to not just Bollywood versus Rihanna, but so much more about what they should stand up for. Time and again, Bollywood has been rather blind-sighted by what is right. As it turns out, this is just one of those instances.
