‘Bombay Begums’ trailer: A tale of women we want to know about

Set in the city of dreams, as we call it, these Bombay Begums are true queens in their own sense. The Netflix original film Bombay Begums narrates the tale of 5 different women, each of their kind. Rani, Lily, Shai, Fatima, and Ayesha hail from diverse backgrounds, with not so diverse dreams, interestingly so.

As Netflix released the Bombay Begums trailer today, there is a lot to watch out for. We see the females dominating the screens once again and beautifully so. While they each live varied lives, it somehow connects to the other. And eventually, it is the tale of how they get through, and also take each other through.

Pooja Bhatt makes a return to the screens with Bombay Begums after a while. Also a part of the movie, is an interesting cast of Amruta Subhash, Aadhya Anand, Shahana Goswami, Plabita Borthakur. As for actors, Rahul Bose is another strong addition to this women lead movie.

Alankrita Shrivastava has taken to direction with this Netflix original film, and we can’t wait to watch it. Coming from the Lipstick Under My Burkha director, we are definitely overwhelmed with the premise of the movie. With strong dialogues, great actors, and powerful cinematography so far, we are mighty impressed.

A dialogue that somehow stays after watching the Bombay Begums trailer is: Survival is a battle for every woman. While we have only gotten glimpses of the stories so far, they all seem powerful in their own sense. And if you come to think of it, that’s the beauty of it, isn’t it? We have some quality cinema about women, for women, by women. However, it is when they all come together that cinema feels like a true winner. High hopes are riding on this one for sure!
