Deepika Padukone remembers Irrfan Khan as Piku clocks in 5 years

Actor Irrfan Khan left for heavenly abode on April 29, 2020, leaving the world mourning his loss. However, the actor has created some of the finest stories, great films, and taught many lessons. The actor co-starred Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the film Piku, and it has clocked in 5 years today. On this occasion, Deepika Padukone remembered Irrfan Khan with a post on social media.

Deepika penned down the lyrics of a song from Piku, Lamhe Guzar Gaye, as she shared a click of the two smiling through their eyes. The song is a soulful one that sums up the entire emotions of Piku. As Deepika Padukone remembers Irrfan Khan with a heartfelt post, everyone dropped in some generous comments to send out their love to the actor.

In the film, Deepika Padukone plays the titular role while Irrfan Khan takes on the role of Rana. Amitabh Bachchan, on the other hand, is the father of Deepika’s character, Bashkor Banerjee. While the movie narrates how Piku and Bashkor come together during the road trip, Rana wins our hearts on multiple occasions.

While Deepika Padukone remembered Irrfan Khan, she wrote down the lyrics of the song and at the end of it, she wrote, ‘Rest in Peace my Dear Friend.’ Apart from Deepika and Irrfan, the photo gives us a glimpse of director Shoojit Sircar, thereby making us miss Amitabh Bachchan in the frame.

Check out post by Deepika Padukone remembering Irrfan Khan:

When Deepika first heard about Irrfan Khan’s demise, she had shared a blank post with the hashtag of Irrfan Khan. Even though she did not use any words, her condolences and prayers for Irrfan looked powerful. Their work in Piku continues to be loved by everyone and if you ask us, it could probably be your weekend watch.

Deepika Padukone’s post for Irrfan Khan on the occasion of Piku completing 5 years is quite nostalgic. For those who haven’t seen the film, must watch it for a cast like the one this is. While Deepika fondly remembers Khan, we think we will celebrate him too, by watching this film over the weekend.

On the work front, Irrfan Khan was last seen in Angrezi Medium. With this film as his last, the actor has sure left some more memories to cherish. Deepika’s last film, on the other hand, was Chhapaak. Even though the film did not do very well, it hit the right chord with the audiences.
