Emma Watson supports trans people post J.K. Rowling’s controversial tweet

J.K. Rowling’s tweet about trans people has grabbed a lot of eyeballs, and not for very good reasons. The Harry Potter writer has received a lot of flak and people have extended their support to the trans community. And now, another news piece doing the rounds is Emma Watson supports trans people.

In fact, Emma went on to write, “Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are,” wrote Watson on her own Twitter feed. “I want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are.”

As Emma Watson supports Trans people, many of her fans too, have extended their support and voiced their concerns. J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans comments have not gone very well with the people. In turn, the writer has been called out for transphobia after her comment where she said that a trans woman can be a threat to her idea of womanhood.

However, she has also shared another tweet where she spoke about two organizations, asking people to make donations. She wrote, “I donate to @Mermaids_Gender and @mamacash. If you can, perhaps you’ll feel inclined to do the same.”

However, something that has also gone on to grab a lot of attention is the time of Emma’s tweets. With people slamming J.K. Rowling, has also revealed through her essay how she has been a victim of sexual assault and domestic abuse. She wrote in her blog, “I’m mentioning these things now not in an attempt to garner sympathy, but out of solidarity with the huge numbers of women who have histories like mine, who’ve been slurred as bigots for having concerns around single-sex spaces.”
