Gunjan Saxena Trailer: Janhvi Kapoor brings about an inspirational story that we can all use right now

The trailer of Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl released today and it has been received well so far. With the ongoing lockdown, the movie was pushed for an OTT release and hence, the Gunjan Saxena trailer was also delayed. However, the wait is now over as the movie will release on August 12, 2020.

Taking to social media Janhvi shared the trailer and had some kind words to say about it. This story is that of the first-ever female IAF pilot in combat, and her journey of struggles. While the movie aims at presenting a story that is ever so emotional and overwhelming, it is also a lot more.

Over the due course of the trailer, Janhvi also has some men paving the path for her, especially her father. Played by Pankaj Tripathi, the father-daughter bond is one that adds another emotional angle. Apart from that, it is also a successful attempt at telling the story of a women achiever.

Through the Gunjan Saxena trailer, we witness how her strugglers are more than just that, often discomfort. For instance, the bit when she loses to arm-wrestling a man, or when she is constantly reminded of being a woman in a man’s world.

True that the film is something as basic as it could get, but in such volatile times, a little positivity can do wonders. And so, while it is an absolute honour to be able to witness this journey, it is also important.

Releasing on Netflix, the movie is directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar. Janhvi was last seen in Ghost Stories and made her debut with Dhadak. She also has in her kitty, a couple of other films like Dostana 2, Roohi Afza, etc.
