The killing of George Floyd has kickstarted the Black Lives Matter movement and protests have been on across the US. Over the last couple of days, many Bollywood celebrities have also spoken up and it has received rather mixed reactions. Kangana Ranaut slams Bollywood celebrities for the BLM is what everyone has been talking about.
Kangana spoke about Indian celebrities endorsing all kind of fairness products, and called them out for their hypocrisy. She said how they are now shamelessly saying black lives matter. As Kangana Ranaut slams Bollywood celebrities, she also highlighted a norm in Indian films. She said, “Our industry even shies away from casting darker actors for characters that are supposed to be fair-skinned.” She further went on to highlight how no one has asked them about the fairness product deals and suddenly, they are all about black lives matter. She said, “Racism is deep-rooted and when you have commercialised such events that is the lowest humanity can hit.”
Many Bollywood celebrities have spoken up about the Black lives matter movement. Some of the names include the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, and others. In fact, netizens also slammed these celebrities for not speaking about violence at home.
This is not the first time when reports suggesting Kangana Ranaut slams Bollywood celebrities have taken over the news. The Panga actress has often voiced her opinions on multiple occasions, and this is just one of them.

Earlier, Kangana also spoke about celebrities not having said a word about the Sadhu lynching. She also went on to highlight how the said incident happened in Maharashtra. Kangana also said how Bollywood is derived from Hollywood following a strong statement. She said, “Perhaps, it is because of their pre-independence colonial slavery genes.” She also went on to say how celebrities continue to live in a bubble. Further, she pointed out how they jump onto the bandwagon for two minutes of fame, but ‘white people’ must drive it.
As far as her future projects are concerned, the actress will be seen in Thalaivi, J Jayalalithaa’s biopic. Due for a release on June 26, the movie will now have to wait. Meanwhile, the actress has been spending her lockdown with family in Manali and keeps sharing glimpses from her time there.
