Popular films and shows during lockdown: Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara to Anushka Sharma’s Paatal Lok

The ongoing pandemic has rendered all of us at home with little to no entertainment. However, various platforms have brought great content to our home, and OTT has also become the new normal. What has made the lockdown bearable for everyone is the new releases. If you are someone who is also looking out for popular films and shows during lockdown, this is for you.

We are all consuming content online for months and this past few months have seen an uprise in OTT content. In fact, even films have taken to OTT releases, including the finest and most awaited ones. And so, a list of popular films and shows during lockdown has been released, courtesy Ormax Media.

As it turns out, we have the top 5 popular films and shows during lockdown, releasing online. The top 5 for films is as interesting as it gets with Dil Bechara being at the top. Among others, there also happens to be a rather interesting mix of films. After the Sushant Singh starrer, Gulabo Sitabo is next, followed by Extraction next. At the 4th and 5th spots, there is Shakuntala Devi and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, respectively.

As already told, this list is basically derived on the basis of the kind of online buzz they generate, along with the reach and appeal. While these were films that did well online during the lockdown, the list of popular series is equally interesting.

At the top spot, there Disney Plus Hotstar’s Special Ops. Given the uprise in thriller as a genre in India, this comes across as no surprise. In fact, the next two shows, include Anushka Sharma helmed Paatal Lok followed by Asur. These three shows sure have managed to garner a mass appeal and rightly make it to the popular films and shows during lockdown.

Meanwhile, at the 4th and 5th spots, we have Panchayat, followed by Aarya.
