Elliot Page announces he is transgender with a note on social media:

Among other things, he expressed being happy, but also scared. He also wrote about the fact that discrimination exists, while also shedding light on privilege. He mentioned, ”I’m scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the “jokes” (sic) and of violence. The discrimination towards trans people is rife, insidious, and cruel, resulting in horrific consequences. In 2020 alone it has been reported that at least 40 transgender people have been murdered, the majority of which were Black and Latinx trans women.”

Well, the announcement was also a message to those who must hear it, and also a strong statement on what needs to be said. In fact, the actor’s profiles on social media have already undergone a name change as Elliot Page announces he is transgender. Many have lauded the actor, including the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Hugh Jackman, and others. Ellan wrote, ”Sending love to my friend, @TheElliotPage. You inspire me with your strength, courage and honesty.”

Messages sending all the love and support to the actor, continue pouring in after the announcement!
