Thrillers to watch this week: Halahal to The Gone Game, Here are our picks

Content on OTT has been overwhelming, especially in the recent couple of months. While there is an upsurge in films and shows available, certain genres have been pushed a little more than others. As it turns out, mystery, crime, and thrillers are a few genres that the audience has taken interest in. So this weekend, we decided to list down some thrillers to watch.

While thriller goes hand in hand with crime and mystery, these films and shows are of varying degrees. If you are someone who takes interest in them, then this might be the list you want to save for later.

Here is our pick for thrillers to watch:

Halahal

This Eros Now film is yet to release, but it will have your day sorted. With actors Barun Sobti and Sachin Khedekar coming together, it narrates a real-life story. A father seeks help when his daughter’s murder is declared a suicide. However, things get complicated and it all comes down to politics and power. While the trailer is as intriguing as ever, Sobti in a new avatar catches our attention.

C U Soon

This film is yet another masterpiece. If you haven’t watched it yet, you are missing out. Talk about thrillers to watch and this immediately crops up. The movie has an ensemble cast and has been shot entirely during lockdown. Though one might think that there are too many screens on the screen, it is rather seamless. Fahadh Faasil, Roshan Mathew and Drashana are an absolute treat in this one.

The Gone Game

Another film that has been shot during the lockdown, this one barely moves out of closed spaces. However, one will not feel that there was any kind of hindrances to shooting. It features an ensemble cast of Arjun Mathur, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, and a few others. Every character is sketched out and every detail is taken care of, this experiment was an absolute hit.

Hostages

Season 2 of the Ronit Roy starrer came out a couple of days ago and it has been applauded widely. While one may find it difficult to keep up with the overwhelming number of parallel stories running together, it is a good watch.

Bulbbul

A lot has been said about this one and Tripti Dimri is the start of this film. One cannot praise Anushka Sharma enough for telling stories that matter. While this has made to the list of thrillers to watch, it also fits the bill of a horror drama and the likes.
