What to watch during quarantine: Money Heist, Baarish, The Half of It and more

Every time I take dinner, the question about what to watch does pop up in my mind, and it seems have become a norm now. None the less, the bigger question is what to watch during quarantine, because there seems to never be enough. If you are someone who cannot eat without something playing, this watch list might be helpful for you.

What to watch during quarantine: A list of 7 films and shows

The Half Of It

You can stream this film on Netflix and if you ask me, this is definitely a beautiful film in more than one sense. The movie features Leah Lewis, Alexxis Lemire, and Daniel Diemer in the lead roles. It happens to narrate an interesting story of how a student helps a classmate woo a girl he likes, but in the process, falls in love with her too. The movie starts a conversation about multiple things, primarily, how we must not go searching for the perfect someone.

Never Have I Ever

Streaming on Netflix, this series narrates the life of a first-generation Indian-American teenager. While many might think that this will turn out to be just another teenage flick, it is much more indeed. The film feature Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Darren Barnet, Richa Moorjani, and Poorna Jagannathan in pivotal roles. If you haven’t watched it yet, your search for what to watch during quarantine ends right here.

Now this web series is different from the other two listed above, a crime thriller, and one of the best we’ve seen in India so far. Featuring the likes of Barun Sobti, Arshad Warsi, and Riddhi Dogra, it is sure to keep you hooked until the very last scene. Available on Voot Select, Asur should definitely make it to your what to watch during quarantine list.

This is from Shah Rukh Khan and stars two of Bollywood’s best, Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobriyal. Paulo Cohelo himself rooted for this one, and rightly so for it raises so many questions about celebrities, in general. This is my weekend watch for sure. It is available on Netflix for you to stream.

While on my lookout for what to watch during quarantine, I happened to stumble upon this ALT Balaji show. Featuring Asha Negi and Sharman Joshi as leads, this one does have some daily soap drama, but it also is a feel-good watch given the current times. It shows two people, so different, yet so similar can fall in love and go to any extents for each other, and yet, they come to a crossroad they never would have imagined. Season 2 came out rather recently, and I watched both of them in a single sitting.

Money Heist

Another series in the crime genre, Money Heist has been the talk of the town for a while now. If this is a genre that you enjoy or wish to explore, you must start it off with this one. Streaming on Netflix, it has four seasons and features an ensemble cast, one that might seem new to us since it is a Spanish show.

Now, as much as I tried to curate a list, I couldn’t leave out FRIENDS off it because it practically never gets old. So if you are in one of those done with the search for what to watch during quarantine, you can safely return to this classic. No questions asked!
