This pandemic year of 2020 has brought a halt to Narendra Modi’s pre-planned foreign trips. The blame is surely on the COVID-19, due to which 2020 will be the first year with no foreign trips for PM Narendra Modi.
Until 22nd November, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) data on the website, Narendra Modi didn’t plan any international trip for 2020, and it’s said to be unlikely that Narendra Modi might visit any country before the end of this year.
November 2019 was Narendra Modi’s last trip to Brazil. Narendra Modi, however, visited other states including his visit to Bihar four-time, where he campaigned for the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, and also, Ayodhya to lead the ceremony for Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh.
Narendra Modi visited, in all, 96 countries from 15th June 2014 till November 2019, according to the PMO data. The exact visitation breakup of numbers show that Narendra Modi visited eight counties in 2014, 23 in 2015, 17 in 2016 and followed by the next three years, 14, 20, and 14 respectively.
This change stands out because Narendra Modi had a full packed International Itinerary during the pre-pandemic times.
