The Corona Pandemic took 83 days for the first 50,000 deaths to be recorded and just eight more for the toll to climb to 100,000. On Jan 9th the first death was recorded in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The Great Plague, lasting from 1665 to 1666, was the last major epidemic of the bubonic plague to occur in England. The Great Plague killed an estimated 100,000 people—almost a quarter of London’s population—in 18 months.

On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization characterized the spread of COVID-19 as a pandemic. As of 10 April 2020, the number of people infected with COVID-19 reached 1.6 million worldwide. This led to many countries taking preventive lock down measure to contain the spread and economically, this left many countries declare unprecedented stimulus packages. .
