The co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma has been suspected missing for the past 2 months after coming into conflict with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Jack Ma was set to appear as a judge in the final episode of his own talent show, ‘Africa’s Business Heroes’, but mysteriously did not turn up for it and as a consequence, his photographs were removed from the show’s website, The Telegraph, UK, reported.
In October 2020, Jack Ma had flayed the CCP government’s ‘pawnshop’ financial regulators and state-owned banks in an incendiary speech in Shanghai. Further, he also mentioned that system reforms are stifling business innovation and the global banking regulations are like ‘old people’s club’.
However, President Xi Jinping-led Central Communist Party government didn’t like Ma’s criticisms. They even suppressed his business activities.
In November, officials in Beijing reprimanded Ma and suspended the blockbuster $37billion initial public offering of his Ant Group on the direct order of President Jinping, the Wall Street Journal reported.
“Due to a schedule conflict Mr. Ma could no longer be part of the finale judge panel of Africa’s Business Heroes earlier this year (2020),” an Alibaba spokesperson said.
Having said that, this gave rise to Jack Ma’s disappearance from the public for the past 2 months. His sudden vanishment is raising the eyebrows and questions on him as well as on the Chinese Government.

Chinese billionaire Jack Ma is missing after criticizing the Chinese government. Wow. This would be like the U.S. government kidnapping Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg to teach them a lesson. https://t.co/AREly0Ba7M

Where is Chinese billionaire Jack Ma? He has not made any public appearance in 2 months. He criticised Chinese regulators and state-owned banks in Shanghai in October. https://t.co/SyIZZOYMqn

He’s been missing for > 2 months?!
Really shows the difference in China v. U.S media.
If Bezos missed lunch it’d be on the cover of the NYT the next morning. https://t.co/93O1KDPwzS

Jack Ma—now missing—has done a better job upsetting really powerful people than anybody else on the planet.
Strictly speaking that’s not illegal. But as @navalny will tell you, it’s plenty dangerous.

How is anybody talking about anything other than Jack Ma’s disappearance?

Jack Ma isn’t missing… he’s a guest of the Chinese Communist Party in a reeducation camp. Seriously, this is nuts! https://t.co/h4WTXxZAsI
