Seven-year-old girl was found dead in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh

A seven-year-old girl was found dead in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Her liver was extracted and the police suspect that the accused also tried to rape her. The police stated that a childless couple in the village paid Rs.1000 to two men who are neighbours of the child to perform an occult ritual so that the couple could have children of their own.

The girl was allegedly kidnapped by these two men on Saturday night, then the drunk men tried to rape her and then killed her. Later, as a part of the ‘ritual,’ they allegedly extracted the liver from the girl’s body and took it to the couple.

When the police found the girl dead in the village on Sunday morning they said that some other parts of the body could have been extracted. All four accused have been arrested since the body was found.

Senior police officer Brajesh Srivastava said: “Several teams were deployed to crack the case. The girl’s neighbors, Ankle and Beeran, were picked up based on suspicion. On questioning, they confessed. They said a man called Parshuram, who is the uncle of Ankur, paid them some money to do this.”

The police said, Parshuram got married in 1999 but had not had a child so far. “The two (Ankul and Beeran) were drunk and tried to misbehave with her. After this, they cut her open, took out her liver, and gave it to Parshuram.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the crime and directed officials to take strict action against the accused. He further directs the officials to provide Rs. 5 Lakhs to the victim’s family as extended help. The Chief Minister has said that this case will be heard in a fast-track court so that the accused receive an immediate punishment.
