The lockdown is truly a tough time for everyone but anxiety could make it much worse for some. Here are 8 tips to ensure you stay sane and stay safe during these times.
1. FOLLOW A ROUTINE:
Do not deviate from your normal routine and make sure you make a new routine if needed. Keep yourself engaged. It leaves less time for overthinking and over-analyzing the situation that we’re in.
2. NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE:
Instead of thinking that this lockdown is a hindrance and the end of the world, take it to be a break for yourself to complete your chores, get more involved with your family, read your favorite books, and stay indoors to ensure everyone around you is safe and healthy.
3. ENGAGE IN HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES:
The more you learn, the more you grow. Engage in household activities and help in the house. Not only will this help in keeping yourself busy but it will also make sure that you learn a few things this lockdown.
4. SWITCH OFF YOUR PHONE:
If you end up believing WhatsApp forwards, you become paranoid and this is what we want to avoid. Switch off your phone at times, avoid reading articles about coronavirus all the time.
5. SLEEP ON TIME:
Like fixing a schedule is important, it is equally important to ensure that you sleep on time. Your sleeping pattern should be healthy and you must sleep at least for 6-8 hours a day to be rejuvenated and healthy, both, mentally and physically.
6. KEEP SURROUNDINGS CLEAN:
When your room is dirty and untidy, or your house has been messy for a really unclean and unkempt for a long time, there is an overall feeling of chaos and instability.
Watching breathing exercises on Youtube is a big help as you get to calm yourself at the times when there’s a feeling of panic or chaos in general.
8. TALK TO A PROFESSIONAL:
Lastly, if you still have problems dealing with your anxiety, even during the lockdown, doctors and therapists take appointments online. Hence, it would be much easier if you talked to one of these remedies do not work for you.
