In the video, four to five men can be seen working together to rescue the lion cub.

Putting their lives at risk, forest staff in Gujarat saved a lion cub stuck in a net. In a video shared by senior Indian Forest Service officer Ramesh Pandey, a group of field researchers and forest staff can be seen working hard to extricate the lion cub from the net.

The incident took place in Rajula, Greater Gir.

Sharing footage of the rescue on Twitter, Pandey wrote: “Forest staffs and field researchers in Rajula, Greater Gir (Gujrat) heard a roar and found a lion cub trapped in net.”

Sitting close by were the lioness and the other cubs.

“To avoid strangulation of cub they put their lives at risk and freed the cub. Salute to our green guards,” wrote Pandey.

In the video, four to five men can be seen working together to rescue the lion cub. They subdued the aggressive cub and then risked their lives by getting closer to the cub to disentangling it from the net.

Since being posted on Twitter, the video has been viewed more than 28,000 times on the microblogging platform.

While some netizens praised the rescuers for their courage, others questioned why there was a net in the forest.
