An old man residing on the highest peak in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla, the Hatu Peak, has been taking care of as many as 16 dogs, even as he struggles to earn his own livelihood.
An Instagram use posted a video that shows the Himachal Pradesh man living in the open, his limited belongings kept across the ground. The man can be seen wearing a worn-out jacket and cooking a meal, accompanied by the dogs he feeds.
“If humanity has a reflection. This man owns, feeds and shelters 16 dogs; all of them climb 3 mountains with him every day to earn his bread. Location- Hatu peak, Narkanda, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla,” reads the caption.
Tourist spots like these are home to a number of stray dogs who rely on travelers to feed them. They are never taken very good care of.
Netizens are in awe at the old man’s kindness and compassion, who is taking care of his four-legged friends even as he struggles to earn a living.
