Lakshmi Rajaram Solves Rubik’s Cube In Just 10 Seconds!

Lakshmi Rajaram who is a studying B.Com at B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute Of Science And Technology recently through an online contest won the Red Bull Rubik's Cube World Cup 2020 for speed-cubing.

Lakshmi Rajaram who is a studying B.Com at B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute Of Science And Technology recently through an online contest won the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Cup 2020 for speed-cubing.

She can solve all the sides in just 10 seconds. She started with cubing when she was in 9th grade, that is five years ago.

Lakshmi Rajaram said to The New Indian Express that, “My brother is pretty good at solving Rubik’s cube. Watching him solve Rubik’s cubes is what intrigued me to try my hand at it.”

When she began with cubing, she was not able to beat her brother. But, eventually, she was able to when she started taking part in various cubing events which encouraged her to proceed.

She said, “That is the best way to keep yourself motivated.”

Lakshmi Rajaram in the category of Speed Cubing (female) cracked it in the best timing 12.768 seconds. With lots of practice, she is now able to do the cubing in 10 seconds.

She speaking with Deccan Chronicle said, “My brother was the only who used to attend the cubing competitions. I got interested in cubing only after seeing the competition area myself. Before that, I just knew how to solve a cube in the most basic manner since my brother knew how to solve it.”

With immense practice, she is now able to crack the record and says that she carries one Rubik’s cube with her where ever she goes.

“Even when I am hanging out with my friends or watching TV, I have a cube with me. I constantly try to solve it. I’m in a constant race with myself,” Lakshmi Rajaram said.

She mentioned that “This used to be a competitive category previously and my brother and I have won several titles here. But these days, we just do it for fun.”

Lakshmi Rajaram has won 2 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals till now.

She further mentioned, “I am also at the 4th position in the world female feet cubers and 7th place in Indian feet cubers (general category). I also recently won Red Bull Rubik’s Cube National Finals in the speed-cubing (female) category and I am excited to travel to Moscow to represent our country at the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Cup.”
