Several workout videos showcasing the grandma-grandson duo of lifting weights have been circulating virally over social media platforms.
Chirag is a qualified personal trainer and co-owner of the Alwarpet-based Strength System gym. He’s created a fitness program for Kiran based on her medical condition, the goal of her training, and the types of workouts she loves.
Kiran, who was born and raised in Chennai, was a vivacious young lady in her youth. She was always a part of sports events at her school, whether it was swimming, kho-kho, or kabaddi.

Marriage, on the other hand, brought with responsibilities. She never gave up and involves in house old works.
However, as she grew older, she developed a slew of illnesses, and her health began to deteriorate. Everything escalated seven months ago after she sprained her legs after falling out of bed.

She lifts weights three days a week. Glute bridges, upper and lower body drills, bicep rolls, deadlifts, balance-oriented workouts, landmine press, split squats, etc are the workouts that she does in a saree.
Granny’s workout starts with a warm-up. Resistance exercise, contrary to common opinion, improves your muscles and bones as you get older.
It has been shown in research to improve brain control, minimise mortality risk, and avoid falls.
After the videos went viral, Chirag got several requests from other senior citizens who saw the videos to design workouts and exercises twice a week with basic videos involving limited equipment at home, and he began a free trial week on November 23.
