India has been enthusiastically waiting for the U.S. electric and clean energy’s Tesla Model 3 to make its way into the roads of India after Elon Musk successfully managed to make his car to the foreign roads. Muck has been postponing the launch of the electric car in the country, even after repeated requests by promising it on next year.

According to Indian Express, things are looking somewhat promising and this time the company might start the sale of the Tesla Model 3 in India by early 2021.
As reported by The Financial Express, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, speaking at The Indian Express Idea Exchange program stated that Tesla would start operation in India with sales in the coming year.
Tesla will first start its operations with sales and then move towards the assembling and manufacturing part which will depend on how is the sales response, stated the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
Tesla Model 3 will be the affordable and the first one to enter Indian markets, indicated by the reports, and the booking for which could start in a few weeks. 55 lakhs and onwards will be the set price for the car, but it could only be acquired in the second half of 2021.
The company has already collected $1000 which is Rs. 73,505 approximately, reported by The Indian Express. The collection is done as deposits from Indian buyers in 2016 who later felt that the company let them down. The reason for the delay in the launch plans in India is because of the criteria of 30% sourcing, Elon Musk stated.
Now the question is whether India would finally be able to bring the electric magnificence home or even this year Elon Muck will quote himself saying “Next year for sure.”
The Indian Electric Automobile companies are progressing at a rapid pace and are coming up with advanced and upgraded vehicles that might present themselves to be a competition for Elon Musk’s Tesla.
