The Covid-19 pandemic has affected millions of lives across the globe. While some countries managed to tackle the first wave of the virus effectively enough to terminate the second wave, India became the worst affected country by the second wave. According to experts, lockdown and vaccination are the two main weapons to fight the novel coronavirus. But, even though India is witnessing the largest vaccination drive in the country, the government seems to be in a great dilemma on whether they should lift the lockdown or continue the restrictions imposed. One particular faction of people who are worst affected by the lockdown is the street vendors.
Street vendors or daily wage workers are entirely dependent on their daily income. Talking about street vendors and lockdown, a video has gone viral on the internet which proves that the street vendors are suffering more than anyone else right now. The video is from Mumbai, Mira Road, Naya Nagar Market. In the video, the MBMC (Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation) officials are seen having a spat with the vendor and as soon as the poor man tries to protect his cart the officials overturn his dry spices cart while two other men (not officials) are seen destroying the cart as well.
Watch the video:
Dear @MumbaiPolice @DGPMaharashtra
This is happening in Mira road, We salute the hard work of mumbai police but this kind of inhuman conduct is extremely disappointing and disgraceful.Just think of the poor guy whose livelyhood is lost. @CMOMaharashtrahttps://t.co/fsN8ROekFU pic.twitter.com/2P2evyH9V4

What about the encroachment of public property?
