Amid rising COVID-19 cases, #lockdown2021 starts trending on Twitter

In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 103,558 COVID-19 cases, and post which lockdown 2021 has started trending on Twitter.

The disastrous COVID-19 virus is again back on the top. India is currently witnessing one of the biggest vaccination drives in the world. But is it helping us? Well, the rising cases day after day are not only worrisome but also question the carelessness of the citizens. In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 103,558 COVID-19 cases and with that, India’s total tally has surged past the 12.5 million mark.

Amid all this, the state assembly elections in Kerala, Tamilnadu, and Bengal, going forward with their hugely crowded rallies are nothing but a cheery on the cake for the nation’s COVID state. While Maharashtra is leading the race with almost 3 million cases, the government of Maharashtra has started preparing itself for much worse. Earlier the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray had announced a night curfew from 8 pm to 8 am but due to growing numbers, he has announced that the state will be in lockdown during weekends.

However, netizens didn’t really like the news and started reacting on #lockdown2021.
