It is Siblings day today, and well, we all could also use some weekend watches, couldn’t we? So, I decided to list down some shows and films to watch, today, and probably even later.
The significance of Siblings Day, as the name suggests, is to celebrate the bond between siblings. The first was celebrated back in 1995 and was started by Claudia Evart, when she lost her siblings. And the reason we celebrate siblings day thereafter is to continue what she started.
So, let’s get on with the list of films and series to watch to celebrate today:
Dil Dhadakne Do
This multi-starrer film is and has always been one great hit. Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra play siblings in this movie. While there are layers to the movie, their bond is much celebrated. Every time it is playing on TV, me and my sister hold on to it and how! There’s something about this film that makes you feel closer to your sibling. If anything, the next time they are in trouble, it’ll make you want to stand up for them. And what else is siblings day all about? Isn’t it a celebration of how far we’d go for them? Dil Dhadakne Do is a gem if you ask me!
This Netflix film is all things amazing for it has thrill and it has loads of fun as well. The story revolves around Sherlock Holme’s teenage sister, Enola and her escapades. While on the search of her mother, she manages to turn a series of events her way and how. The cast includes the great Millie Bobby Brown, Ali Mendes, Mary Parent, and Ale Gracia. Not a very typical movie celebrating the siblings bond, but a fine one after all! It may not be a happy siblings day with this one, but a hap(sobs)py one!
This is Us
My eyes might well up just talking and thinking about this show. An absolutely amazing watch, the movie is a story of unique triplets, each facing their own struggles. However, amid all of this, the trioe of Kate, Randall, and Kevin find how there is much more to their lives. Parents Jack and Rebecca along with the trio take us on one heck of a ride. The
The ALT Balaji series is another piece of gem. Talking about must watch Indian web series, and this is it. There’s a lot to take away from this show, and it might make you emotional too. While there is every bit of drama as there can be, there’s a lot more too. The series features some of Indian television’s finest – Aditi Sharma, Zain Imam, Anushka Sen, Rohan Mehra, and Kunj.
I first read the story of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy back in school and I’ve loved the story since. There are multiple adaptaions of Little Women as for the big-screens are concerned, and each, truly depict the bond of sisters. On this siblings day, you sure might want to catch on this movie. What’s even better? Maybe watch it with your sibling! The movie truly describes how in times of adversities, it is family that comes to the rescue.
Happy siblings day to all!
