The second wave of Coronavirus has been a worry in India. With the constant number of increasing cases, getting the COVID-19 vaccination is necessary. Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been trying to escalate issues in India, even from far away. And so, among many of her tweets, her recent one urging Indians to get the COVID-19 vaccine has our attention.

There were reports about how the US has not easing the ban on raw materials exported to India. Priyanka then took to Twitter and tweeted to President Biden about the US ordering more vaccines than needed. Soon after all the criticism, a statement clarified that Biden will aid India in fighting the Coronavirus.

As Priyanka urged Indians to get vaccinated, she also mentioned how she is concerned for India. While she also said that she is thankful for the help from the US to India, she also mentioned the 60 million AstraZeneca doses that the US has promised to share with countries in need.

Here’s the Tweet as Priyanka Chopra urges Indians to take the vaccine:

Meanwhile, Chopra also tweeted: My concern was the US had not yet said when and where they’ll actually be delivered. I am heartened by President Biden’s additional comments yesterday that he intends to send vaccines to India in the near future. So far the US has confirmed, pending FDA approval, that 10 million doses could be shared within the next few weeks. However, it could take months before the remaining 50 million are delivered.

Priyanka has been quite the global icon and she continues to be one in such trying times. As someone who has been constantly sharing resources, every little attempt truly makes a difference. Apart from urging Indians to take the COVID-19 vaccination, she also shared the link. The link is for COVID-19 vaccine registrations for Indians.
