#Lockdown2021 trends as India adds nearly 40,000 COVID cases in a day

India just witnessed a sharp spike in the COVID-19 cases and while there are possible chances of a new lockdown, netizens have already started trending #Lockdown2021

In the last 24 hours, India has registered nearly 41,000 fresh COVID-19 cases. It is the highest number of cases registered in a single in over 4 months. Alongside the growing cases, India also witnessed 188 covid deaths. Meanwhile, 23,623 people recovered from the infection during the same time span. States such as Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, and Gujarat are witnessing a sharp spike in the cases.

Based on the data of the Health Ministry, the total number of cases has reached 2,88,394 which now comprises 2.49 percent of the total infections, while the recovery rate has further dropped to 96.12 percent. This surge in cases can be an indication of the second wave of infections. However, after imposing night curfew in certain states there are possible chances that government might impose a full lockdown in the entire nation. If we witness a lockdown this year around March or April it would be like history repeating itself. Having said that, netizens in no time have already started trending #Lockdown2021.
