West Bengal: Loco pilot stops train to help 3 elephants cross tracks, garners praise from Piyush Goyal

A loco pilot is being showered with praises after he stopped a train to help three elephants cross the rail tracks in West Bengal’s Sivok-Gulma section. Appreciating the man, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal uploaded a short clip on Twitter, which shows three elephants, including a calf, crossing the tracks as the loco pilot brings the train to a halt.

After the three elephants safely crossed over to the other side, the train driver resumed the journey.

“The alertness and prompt action of loco pilot and crew helped to save lives of three elephants including one baby elephant crossing rail tracks on Sivok-Gulma section in West Bengal. The train stopped immediately, waiting for the elephants to safely cross over to the other side,” Piyush Goyal said in his tweet.

The video soon went viral with more than one lakh views and thousands of likes. Netizens applauded the loco pilot for giving importance to life of other species as well.
