#PetrolPriceHike trends on Twitter after Govt proposes ‘farm cess’

After FM Nirmala Sitharaman proposed a farm cess of Rs 2.5 per liter on petrol and Rs 4 per liter on diesel #PetrolPriceHike started trending on Twitter.

In today’s budget reading, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has proposed an agricultural infrastructure and development cess of Rs 2.5 per liter on petrol and Rs 4 per litre on diesel. However, the government also claimed that the fuel prices will not change and there will be no additional burden on the consumer.

Having said that, the price of petrol and diesel is still climbing way high than any common man’s wallet. While Mumbai tops the price table in petrol with 93.20/L, Bhopal tops the table in Diesel with 84.48/L.
