Rajdeep Sardesai gets slammed for peddling fake news

According to the sources, India Today has taken Rajdeep Sardesai off the air after the 'fake news' controversy started getting heated.

FAKE NEWS? UNVERIFIED NEWS? PROPAGANDA?

Well, you all know, Indian media is very familiar with the terms mentioned above. It is certainly not a new thing to say that Indian media plays a huge role in the integrity of the Nation. When it comes to mainstream media, they are hugely responsible for upholding the faith of the audience who are entirely dependent on the ‘News Channel Broadcasting’.

In a recent development, Indian news, anchor and author, Rajdeep Sardesai is facing a lot of heat for peddling fake news over the death of a farmer in the recent tractor rally. Rajdeep, in a viral video, can be seen narrating the incident where he mentioned a young farmer named Navneet Singh was shot in the head by Delhi Police. He also mentioned that farmers are enraged by his death. After his video got viral, Delhi Police released a statement that the farmer was not shot in the head, he died because his tractor overturned while crossing the barricades.

However, the farmers claim that Navneet Singh was shot in the head by Delhi Police. This chaotic situation has given rise to #SuspendRajdeepsAccount.
